Hello there
so I took another step in reconnecting with my gaming brethren by attending 2nd Legion's second birthday event at the Sunshine Coast University.
My friend Joseph was kind enough to give me a lift in so he could milk the WiFi to download Steam games, and not being a big videogamer myself I threw myself in the rooms of miniatures and strange unknown friends and started approaching tables as one does in such circumstances til a friendly hand invites one over for a game or introduces themselves.
First table I landed on was attended by a nice trio of fellows battling it out over one of the participants' home built terrain. Some great shots of a Mordheim battle going on (great to see Specialist Games still alive and well!)
May put a warband together and attend a game or two...I have the minis after all!
I saw Arena Rex played and it looks amazing!
Sci-fi/Infinity/Warhammer 30k table.......stunning piece of terrain........
30k Guard!
After long I took a liking to this mat and its Muskets and Tomahawk game
Raffle went really well....didn't win anything, but atmosphere was wonderful
First game of M&T I was granted control of the right flank of two Provincial units and a central Scoutish unit (Rangers?)
Damn...no enfilade!
Stunning Arena Rex miniature!
Deadzone table I didn't get around to playing on........bucket list!
Lots of wonderful folk and varied, fun games going on
And of course a wear of the Legion's sacred headpiece
Final draw, thanks to participants for supporting the club (I'll like to make it a regular monthly if not fortnightly meet, though tending to monthly at the moment), great crowd and a fun day
Not winning anything I did pick AoS up for $50 from a fellow who won quite a few prizes, this one in particular he had little use for.
Thanks 2nd Legion for the hospitality, I hope to see you all again soon!
Haha that Deadzone table was Infinity, Deadzone is played on a much smaller field. I didn't meet you, which is a shame, but plenty of time next meet ^_^
ReplyDeleteSure thang, locked next fortnight in to play Lord of the Rings pre-tournament (nothing like a good friendly tourney to whet the painting appetite!) and a couple of people have earmarked Kings of War as a ruleset they'd like to explore which is great as it's my favorite set right now and I need preparation and practice pre KingCon (CanCon Nationals)....
ReplyDeleteLook forward to meeting you, thanks for the kind words.
