Why I am resuming blogging....2018 update

Greetings

When I began this blog in 2015 I had had some attempts at blogging in the past and dropped the ball after a time as I ran out of opportunities to be sufficiently settled in my lifestyle to consistently take photos, prep material, research, sit before a laptop or computer and upload these with coherent text.

Since my last post entry in 2015 I have taken a break to do "life" and achieved the following
- moved to a new state (from Victoria to Qld)
- settled into a unit I bought late last year
- organised my garage (mostly....at least the boxes are piled up now!) with 20yrs of miniatures collecting
- explored the hobby of 3D printing and achieved some success with CAD design and printing
- tried my hand at dance classes and concluded I have learned what I need to rock a dance floor for the time being
- began a new career in solar technologies and 12v which has gifted me much and I have been fortunate to join a great local business with a national profile within which I hopefully can grow over time. Long commutes and traffic be damned I can now ride my motorbike along the ocean to work!
What prompted me to return to blogging was
A. I posted a lot of images of my hobby to facebook but that didn't allow me to actually write much, and good a repository of images as it is it's of no benefit to the gaming community at large. I enjoy reading other's blogs thus it only makes sense I chronicle my own journey on the web both for my own and the benefit of others who might glean some inspiration from it
B. Blogger released an app (or maybe I only just discovered it....) which allows me to avoid the biggest hurdle I experienced in that I can post directly from my phone now
C. The purchase of a property means I will be stable for here for some time at least and the business I work in provides me with stability self-employment did not.
So those thoughts on the metaphorical paper done my current projects are directed mostly at 10mm
- FIW French and British forces are en route from Pendraken in the UK

- My WWII collections goes from strength to strength with the British forces purchased, catalogued and bagged up - the German infantry done bar highlighting and special weapons to be completed - the US infantry completed bar HQ and special infantry bases - the Soviet forces see a completed platoon and some elements of support with two other platoons in the pipeline undercoated.
Armor for all factions has been at least printed, mostly undercoated (with some detailed) and decals have arrived for them from Pendraken. I am also designing and printing 3D terrain for my games which comes along in spurts at present as I learn to maintain my printers.

I have purchased a longer term project in the form of a magnificent 19th century apothecary's cabinet at auction I will be fixing up to install in my games room.
On that note - I have a GAMES ROOM!

The unit I settled on in October last year features two rooms, one of which has been dedicated entirely to developing a gaming room while the other is my bedroom.

In the living room I also have a beautiful painting corner but this is not used as much as I'd like as its position precludes me from enjoying documentaries and accessing my PC for inspiration while painting thus I generally end up taking over the dining room table anyway.

As funds allow this might change but since I moved in and began works in Febuary this year this I am satisfied with the progress I am making on the gaming front.

- Modern operations miniatures (Cold War Soviets to Enduring Freedom) see test Western forces done and the Mujaheddin coming along (bases from em4miniatures are en route).

So as this is my first post I imagine I will become more adept at posting and organise images and text better but for the time being it's sufficient.

Back to the painting table for me!
May your dice roll high
Steven
